Straight to Art Curates Charleston Connections

Much like Paris, Charleston, SC is rich with historical charm, interesting architecture and culture. It’s no surprise that the city draws artists such as Hayley Price.

But after arriving, Price found herself equally as immersed in the city’s flourishing art scene as she was in creating her own paintings. The canvas of local art appreciation, including Charleston art walks, galleries on lower King Street, and Halsey Institute of Contemporary Art  ignited her passion and lead her in a new direction.

Price owns and is director of Straight to Art, an online gallery and studio management firm that represents local artists.

Hayley Price, owner and director of Straight To Art

The artist-turned-entrepreneur grew up in Atlanta, GA and attended Washington and Lee in Virginia, where she double majored in Business and studio art. It’s a rare combination, that gives Price an edge in bridging the gap between business management and creativity for artists. This frees them to focus on their work. Price hopes this service helps ensure a thriving art culture in the Charleston area.

Straight to Art founders Jennifer Blackwell and Lauren Brandon recently sold the company to Price, who was a client at the time. “Hayley is on fire,” says Blackwell. She has no doubt about Straight to Art’s future success under its new leader.

The company exhibits and sells its artwork at various office buildings in Charleston, Fourteen & East in West Ashley, at pop up galleries, by appointment at Straight to Art’s offices in Mount Pleasant and on StraightToArt.com.

Price ensures each artist’s work is properly exhibited in a curated manner. She also works with interior designers who need to commission art and speciality pieces.
