3 Bed - 3 Bath - Virtual Tour
Amidst the centuries-old live oaks and magnolias of this most magnificent part of The Ford Plantation, the stately antebellum Savannah looks past the shady commons of McAllister Point Park over endless stretches of tidal marsh to the primitive Ogeechee River.
Life here is rich in contrasts: Lowcountry tranquility amid the lifestyle of one of America's most renown sporting clubs. The Savannah follows suit, a blend of classic and contemporary, an embodiment of architect Rick Wissmach's signature "transitional" style.
The Savannah is true to its Lowcountry tradition, perfect in proportion and scale. It is expressed in its bold Savannah brick exterior. It is evidenced in its multi-tiered verandas and elegant entrances. And it is complemented by a private formal garden bordered by park and private access road.
Inside, tradition is upheld with 11-ft. ceilings rimmed by plaster veneer cornices; large-scale, boldly framed doors; hand-carved stair rails and newell posts; windows in expansive groupings that leave rooms brilliant with coastal sunshine. The generous verandas of the second and third stories foster the enjoyment of gentle coastal breezes and views of the park and beyond - along Sterling Creek, across miles of marsh teeming with plant and animal life, to the pristine Ogeechee, one of America's last untamed major rivers.
"While the detail is traditional, we used premium modern materials to ensure lasting beauty," offers builder Keith Foutz. Cases in point: rich walnut floors and sophisticated English brown oak cabinets. Contemporary amenity is characterized by a side-entry wine and cigar room, a four-car garage, appliances of uncompromised features, and kitchens and bathrooms completed with sensuous, indulgent fixtures and finishes. All is smartly planned for individual preference in the completion of rooms and closets.
True to tradition, modern in execution, elegant in stature and status, The Savannah promises an incomparable life and lifestyle.

Boy your home styles are different from mine, are they selling?
Scott
Very beautiful. These are the homes you think of when you come to the south to visit. I wonder how many large, antebellum mansions still exist in the South?
I hope that these will sell well Scott, they are still new construction but will be finished soon so I think we will know soon enough.
You are right Sharon, these town square style homes are very southern, which is why we decided to incorporate a small community for these style homes in The Ford Plantation.
